Mothers and Daughters Creations Challenge

I finally had some time yesterday to make a couple of cards to add to my 'seasonal stash'. I'm working on autumn and Christmas cards simultaneously so I don't have to feel rushed about to get them done when the time arrives to mail them :). AND I bought this new stamp that I just LOVE...so you know I had to ink it up. I have been thinking about The Mothers and Daughters Creations challenge for a couple of days and I really wanted to try their challenge sketch for this week. Sooooo that was what I used for this card :). Before I show you the card though, check out this stamp. Is this not an awesome stamp?!

I just love this Santa's face! I think he has the sweetest face and I love the snowflakes scattered about in his beard. Please do click on the picture so you can see him better :). He's sweet, whimsical, and magical all at the same time :D. And look at his eyes! They really portray that happy little sparkle! This is the best Santa image I think I've ever seen. Do you see why I had to get him :) ? He is just awesome! All right, here's the card:

I have a lot to learn about photography (sigh). My Santa image is matted on Bravo Burgundy cardstock and then matted on shiny gold poster paper. I wish my photo would pick up the shiny gold better, but can you visualize how shiny it is :D ? So far, this is my favorite Christmas card for this year. A big thanks to Mothers and Daughters Creations for this sketch- I really like this sketch! Ok, I'll be back tomorrow with the other card that I made yesterday. That one is probably not going to make it to 'my' stash because I think my daughter is planning on adding it to 'her' stash, lol! She came in last night just as I had finished the card and said, "oooh! I want you to make one of those for me!" Hope everyone is having a wonderful day today! See you tomorrow! ~Barb

Ooops! P.S.- I pop dotted the matted Santa image :).

What I used: Papers: 'Figgy Pudding' collection by Basic Grey; Cardstock: 'Old Olive', 'Very Vanilla', and 'Bravo Burgundy' by Stampin' Up; Stamps: 'Santa Collage- #3408F' by Delta Rubber Stampede, and the sentiment is 'Holiday Interactive Circles' by Limited Edition; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'Aged Mahagony' by Ranger; 'Waterfall' Stickles on the snowflakes; Dies: 'Snowflake #2' by Provocraft and 'Petite Scalloped Circle' Nestability by Spellbinders; jeweled brad by EK Success; gold ribbon from Michael's.
